Here's a bit of good news for anyone working or interested in the #CreativeIndustries:
The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has announced that the creative industries made a record contribution in 2016 and are now worth £92 billion to the UK economy!
This means that creative industries are now worth more than the automotive, life sciences, aerospace, oil and gas industries combined!
It is saddening that the media has not picked up on this news. After all, broadcasting and journalism surely comes under the banner of the creative sector!
In a time of austerity and some traditional industries struggling to cope, surely the creative industries deserve a little more support, investment, and respect for all they've achieved!
Theatre Workout sits in a beautiful venn diagram between education, group travel, and theatre industries. Education makes up a third of all travel to the UK, and the shows we work with are among the most Googled on the planet. We champion the value of creativity in education and we support campaigns like BACC For The Future, Arts Award, and Action For Children's Arts.
