The Lion King pounced into the Lyceum Theatre 25 years ago, and has been wowing at audiences ever since!
To celebrate, we thought we'd share some roarsome facts about the show which you may not know!
There are more than 232 puppets in the show, including rod puppets, shadow puppets, and full-sized puppets.
There are 106 ants on the Ant Hill Lady.
It took director Julie Tayor and her team 37,000 hours to build the original puppets and masks.
There are over 350 complete costumes in the show, each consisting of several different elements.
There are 25 kinds of animal species represented in the production.
There are 22 hand-beaded corsets in the show, each consisting of thousands of individual beads.
Five African languages are spoken or sung in the show: Sotho, Swahili, Zulu, Tswana, and Xhosa.
The tallest animals are the 5.5m giraffs in the song I Just Can't Wait To Be King, and the smallest animal is the 13cm trick mouse at the end of Scar's cane.
The largest animal is the elephant at 4m long, 3.5m high, and 2.75m wide.
There are more people working back stage than performers on stage.
