Funder | Grant value | Next deadline | Further information |
The Royal Society | Up to £3,000 | There are three deadlines per year. The next deadline is 29 November | Schools can obtain funding to run an investigative STEM project in partnership with STEM professionals from academia or industry via The Royal Society’s Partnership Grants. Any UK-based school, sixth form or further education college can apply, as long as the beneficiaries of the funding are aged five to 18 and the proposed project will run for at least one term. The Royal Society of Chemistry | Up to £600 | Reopens for applications in October 2024 | The Primary Science Teaching Empowerment Fund grant is open to primary teachers in the UK and Ireland and can be used toward the costs of a collaborative project or event. British Science Association | £150, £300, £450 or £700 | Applications open mid-September | Schools in challenging circumstances can obtain Kick Start Grant funding so they can run events during British Science Week (7 to 16 March 2025). Grants available range from the £150 Youth Grant, for students aged 10-19 at your school to organise and deliver an activity, to the £700 More Grant, for your school to host a science event or activity that involves your students and the local community. Biochemical Society | Up to £1,000 for small projects and £5,000 for larger projects | Open until 9 October 2024 | The Biochemical Society’s Scientific Outreach Grants fund projects and activities that engage young people in science, particularly molecular bioscience. Projects that are sustained or involve continued engagement qualify for the larger grant. Note that the older the beneficiaries for the grant, the more projects must focus on molecular bioscience.
