As reported last week, from today (2/8/21) passengers who are fully vaccinated in the EU with vaccines authorised by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or in the USA with vaccines authorised by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), or in the Swiss vaccination programme, will be able to travel to England, Scotland and Wales without having to quarantine or take a day 8 test on arrival.
Important Clarification: Under 18's from EU And US do NOT need to quarantine
Good news, the guidance has now been updated to read "Children under 18 who are residents of the USA or the listed European countries also do not need to quarantine or take a day 8 test. They must follow the same rules as children and young people from the UK which are in this guide."
As you know this announcement does not cover arrivals from France, they remain on the Amber plus list. This includes anyone travelling through France by car or coach. Those travelling on a train service who do not disembark in France at any point may be exempt, but would need to check this in advance of booking. We expect further news from the Transport Minister later this week.
